Christmas Eve Hostess projects and last assignment as a Butterfly Inker! :(

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! This will be my last project for the Butterfly Reflections Design Team :(. It's been so much fun to share my projects on this blog. For my final assignment, I actually created a few projects for a little hostess-with-the-mostess wow factor! I will be hosting Christmas Eve at our house again this year and I wanted to jazz up my party a little bit with some handmade items.

I usually have a coffee and cocoa station all set up for anyone that would like a hot beverage. I created a little sign for my station and used the "&" from the Gossamer Blue Get Happy Wood Veneer set. This year, to hold the cocoa packages, I used a mason jar. I glued some of the snow flakes from the collection on the lid. Since its glass and self explanatory, I just used some Christmas paper and the stamp set Fa La La from Kaisercraft, I just love that Elf quote!

Last year  I had the fire pit going on my patio and a few people were enjoying the pit but it was a little too cold for others, YES, we live in Florida but we are not used to cold weather :) So this year, I bought a cute little linen basket with handles and I want to put some warm fleece blankets in it for people to take outside with them. I wish I had thought up some cute poem to put on the label about why there is a basket of blankets but I'm not that clever and I think my family will get it. The label just says blankets. LOL. But the beautiful part about this label is the silver glitter reindeer wood veneer, also from the Gossamer Blue Get Happy Wood Veneer set. I just put some Tombo Mono glue on it (This glue is my arch enemy, irritating me with its sticky web all over my fingertips and nails ugh!!-BUT it works oh so good when it sticks to what it is supposed to!) and sprinkled some silver glitter on top. It is so pretty. The label doesn't need anything else to take away from the glittery reindeer.

I also have Christmas containers on hand for my family to take home leftovers. This is really nice because it helps me clean up a bit of the food and there's not so much in my fridge afterwards. For the containers this year, I made labels with everyone's names on them and some double sided tape to stick on each container. On the labels, I used the Technique Tuesday Holiday Flair stamp set. It makes the labels a little more festive!
I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I enjoyed sharing them with you! Thanks Vanessa and team for letting me be on the Design Team! Happy holidays everyone!

Holiday Gift Tag Gift Card Holders!

Who doesn't love a gift card to their favorite store??!! This week I made 3 gift tags that hold gift cards. These are so cute to hang from the tree or attach to a package.
I made two pretty colorful and busy ones and then I thought, I should make a toned down one as well….I think I was having too much fun and didn't want to stop!! :)

For this one, I used some Paper Trey Ink card stock in kraft. I stamped versamark for the background tag. Then I just added some of the die cuts on the front.
I love the font of this stamp set, a little sentiment at the bottom of the tag is so cute.

As you can see, the gift card fits perfectly. This is a Michael's gift card for my mom…ssshhhh!! Don't tell!

Christmas Project Life Cards *ELF* Design Team Project

My favorite holiday movie hands down is ELF! I think that movie is so sweet and innocent and just makes me smile. I watch that movie every year and I love it more every time. When I was looking through the new Project Life Merry & Bright collection, I saw a card that read "Favorite Christmas Movies" so I was inspired to make 3 cards all about my favorite holiday movie!

In general, I love quoting movies….but ELF is the best for quotes! The Kaisercraft Fa La La stamp is the best quote of all!! It's so true! :) What exactly IS a cotton headed ninny muggins???!!! :)

The snowflake clusters are from Hero Arts Screen Shots 6x4 stamp set. I also used the Gossamer Blue Get Happy wood veneers, Fancy Pants Oh Deer! sequins and Home for Christmas Candy Cane Thickers.

What's YOUR favorite holiday movie? Will YOU be including a card in your PL or December Daily? I think it will be fun to look back years from now and remember how much I loved this movie!

I decided this year to make an October Daily since the month of October is so busy for my family with decorating, deciding on and making costumes, planning, and everything else that goes on to make our annual halloween house a success. I am loving how it is turning out! Here is my day 1 card:
I used the Doodle Bug Ghouls & Goodies Mini Paper Clips and the super glittery Halloween Sprinkles.
The Frankie & Friends Decorative Brads are so so cute and create a little extra dimension for the layout.
Frankie & Friends has been my favorite Halloween collection this year!!! I love the colors and the cute little images and sayings. This beware beware tab will stick out of the pocket for my interest and the arrow was perfect for that photo! I love stars on all my layouts, I loved these Halloween colored enamel stars from Jillibean Soup.

My mother in law hosts Thanksgiving every year and I thought this year I would make her a hostess gift. I saw these cute little chalkboard easels at Michaels and knew that would be perfect!

I decorated the chalkboard menu with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves Lawn Cuts and the Lawn Fawn Turkey Day stamp set. I also used Zing! embossing powder in Aqua and Apricot
At the top of the easel, I put the Bistro Chalk Marker. It fits perfectly right there without rolling off and without being visible from the front. She will be able to write her menu and make any additions or changes as the day goes on, as people bring in dishes or as some dishes get eaten!

It's November!! Since I celebrate Halloween so BIG, to me, fall doesn't start until November! November makes me think of Thanksgiving and all the fun fall colors that go along with it. I recently went to Bath & Body Works to pick up some festive anti bacterial soaps for a YouTube friend. I chose all the newest fall theme soaps. The girl at the counter gave me a clear gift bag, a blue Bath & Body Works ribbon and a blue gift tag to wrap them up. Although it's really nice to get the free gift bag and tag, it didn't match my anti bacterial soaps…and I just couldn't have that!!
I used the new Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves die set to make some fun confetti for inside of the bag. Since my YouTube friend is a scrapbooker too, I thought the die cuts were a cute little additional gift that she could reuse.
I glued three of the different leaves together to make a really cute coordinating gift tag. To finish the gift bag off, I tied the tag with some orange baker's twine. This is such an easy way to make a small gift just a little cuter. I think it looks so much better than the blue freebies from Bath & Body Works!! I love themed gifts, no matter how big or how small!

I love using G's all over my home for decor since I've gotten married, it's the initial of my new last name! :) So I wanted to have a 'G' decoration in my Halloween stash! I bought a galvanized G and a little cute black felt witch hat from Michael's. Then I took some super cute Frankie & Friends bits and pieces and the Frankie & Friends enamel dots to make it fun!
This Halloween 'G' looks so cute on my bookcase with all my other Halloween decorations!! A really fun addition! What a great way to use up those die cut pieces!!

World Card Making Day Challenge!!

Hello!! Yesterday was World Card Making Day and Butterfly Reflections Ink is hosting a challenge this weekend!! Since its October, my favorite month, I decided to make a Halloween card (of course). I am not the best card maker-by far....but Butterfly Reflections Ink had a sketch to use for the challenge and so I decided to join in on the fun!!
I used a bunch of the Halloween goodies that my YouTube friend JudyBakes22 sent me! The Frankenstein, the enamel dots, the sentiment sticker and those adorable googly eyes.
I thought it would be sooooo cute if I added those googly eyes like I normally do enamel dots! The googly eye right under the pumpkin die cut is on a spring!! It is so cute, the picture just doesn't do it justice!
The papers are a mix of older lines, Reminisce Sugar Rush, Reminisce Boo! and Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium that I had in my Halloween stash. The die cut pumpkin is from MFT and the little dimensional kitty is from Recollections.

I hope you made a card this weekend for Butterfly Reflections Ink Challenge!!! If you haven't yet, the challenge will be going on until midnight tonight 10/5!! Good Luck!! :)

Get Ready to Scrap With Me!!

So I love love love the GRWM vid's by beauty guru's on YouTube. They are one of my favorite video's to watch. I decided to try my hand at it but scrapbooking style! It was a lot of work to make! Took me 5  hours from start to finish with the set up, camera angles, editing, uploading, etc. I see why some YouTubers need to get paid to devote so much time to these types of video's! I really can appreciate a well lit, HD quality video and I hope to make more of these for both my YouTube channels. The end product was pretty good I think for my first time, like everything else, I am hoping to get better with practice. I hope you check the video out and let me know what you think! :)

Sugar & Spice Christmas in July Challenge!

I love love love Christmas!! This week's challenge was so much fun because I was able to break out my Christmas scrappy stuff and make something festive! The theme actually worked out perfectly for me to incorporate into my Project Life because my mom had asked me to make an early Christmas list! She loves to start her shopping early!
I used a really really old Bo Bunny Christmas line. I made a mini book out of this for a swap I hosted a few years ago and still had so much of it laying around.

I love non traditional colors in general for Christmas so I am always drawn to these types of colors.

I used some different alpha's and Thickers to create my list.

Go check out Sugar & Spice Challenge #8. Create a project using the same theme and you could win some really great prizes from Sherri!! :)

Mother's Day Coupon Book Using Paper Smooches Squeaky Clean Stamp Set

Hello! I know I am a bit early to start thinking about Mother's Day but I had the idea for this coupon book and had to create it. I love the way it turned out. I knew just the stamp set I wanted to use:  Paper Smooches Squeaky Clean!

I used the My Girl paper collection from My Mind's Eye.

I love paper piecing Paper Smooches stamp sets.

I thought this idea would be a perfect gift for a mother's day.

What mom wouldn't want some help cleaning?? :)

I decided also to make a matching card to make it an official set :)

   Grab Our Blog Badge!

This theme fit in perfectly with the pictures I took of my step daughter and I's flower garden! I created a 4x6 card for my Project Life  using the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection. Here are some pics.....
My step daughter and I planted these flowers in September 2013. They seem to have just bloomed over night.
For the title, I used SN@P! alpha stickers at the top and Sticko gold glitter stickers at the bottom.

I used Recollections enamel dots in the stamped flowers. The stamp set I purchased at Michael's a few years ago. I finished the card with some outlining.

Thanks to everyone that reads my blog, I appreciate you taking the time.

My Project Life Essentials

So I have been posting a ton of my Project Life style pocket pages on my YouTube channel. I have been enjoying the process and looking at the end result. I have gotten a lot of comments about people liking PL, having the products but they just haven't started. I think because it can seem overwhelming. I love the concept of the pocket pages more than I am a fan of a daily photo with minimal embellishment. I think the idea of Project Life is amazing and I think it's awesome that Becky Higgins created this new scrapbooking format! I appreciate that this idea was geared towards the people who wanted to scrapbook but just couldn't find the time. It is a fun, easy and fast way to put your photos together in an album. My interpretation of Project Life however is adapted to me and my style of scrapbooking. I make time for scrapbooking because it is my hobby and I love it! I want my pages to pop and the more embellishment, the more I like it! :) I do not take a picture a day as Project Life was intended, sometimes I might do so, however, sometimes I might take 20 pictures per day. To me, it doesn't matter how many pictures I take, what matters to me is that I take them and document my life with them. The pockets allow me to take an individual box and add photo's, journaling and embellishments. Some of the pockets may be independent of the others, some times they may connect together to tell a story. Either way, I enjoy this method of scrapbooking. I hope that people try it out, that they don't become overwhelmed with thinking that they have to take a picture a day, because they don't, its their scrapbook, document it as it best works for them. The pocket pages are just a means to conveying and documenting your life, not a dictation of how it is supposed to be done. :)

I decided to put together my list of items that I like to use when I am working on my pocket pages. I hope this helps anyone who is interested in starting this type of scrapbooking!

My go to items for working on pocket pages:
The app PicFrame and my Selphy printer. I size my photos in PicFrame so that they fit in the pockets. I print the photo's at home on my Selphy photo printer.
My essential tools. I use all of these tools every time I scrap the pocket pages.
On to the fun stuff!! I use enamel dots, washi tape, the new SC gold embellishments, flair and stamps.
I also use a ton of labels. I love to staple them on with my tiny attacher.
Can't believe I forgot to put this in the photo with my essential tools!
Wood veneer's are a big trend and I do like to include these on my pages as well; although not as much as I used to.
I also love, love, love using overlays!!! I recently made a few myself using staz on ink and transparency. I still have a lot of tweeking to do before they are this pretty but I just love the look the overlays give to my photos.
I always use a ton of sticker letters in my pockets. I love the look they give the pockets. I do handwrite  my journaling but the sticker letters just POP whatever they spell out.
This one is obvious and I almost didn't include it but....I decided to anyway. I like to have a variety of pocket pages, however I do have my favorites A and D. I wish Becky Higgins made another configuration for more horizontal pockets....hopefully she will. I also like the ease that having actual Project Life cards gives me by being the right size for the pockets. I do use other brands of cards which I always have to cut down and is super annoying. I also sometimes make my own cards out of pattern paper. I was subscribed to the Studio Calico kits, but after 3 months, they stopped sending them to me....I have no idea why. It's ok because I wasn't a big fan anyways. Sometimes joining a kit club makes the process easier as well, this takes out the step of choosing papers and cutting them down. The cards are ready to go and they usually all coordinate together in the kit.
I'm also including a picture of my desk and hopefully you can see that everything I use is in arm's length. I don't like to get up and search around my room for my scrapbooking stuff. I'm also a digger so I like piles and stuff out of their packages. (on another note, my mat looks a bit yucky-I'm in the market for an new one, I want the American Crafts aqua colored one)

Now, here are a few things I've found that I do not use a lot in my pocket pages.
I love the look of mists on 12x12 layouts however I find that I do not like to use them in my pocket scrapbooking.

Sticker labels is another embellishment I find that I do not use a ton of. I have so many, I'm not sure why I don't use them more.....I need to :)

I can probably count on one hand how many times I have used tags in my pocket pages. I prefer the smaller tags that just peek out from behind a photo or embellishment, however I just don't use them often.

I hope whomever this post reaches, it helps in some way to think about starting to scrapbook the pocket way :) Thanks for visiting my little blog.
